VZW Restorative Dentistry and Implantology organizes at the Icarus Academy ahands-on course: ‘Photography: an indispensable tool in the dental practice.’
Photography in today’s dental practice is indispensable. It creates direct additional value in various domains: as a tool for communication and consultation with your patient, your labo as well as your colleagues, and as a unique source of information to develop and carry out treatments.
This comprehensive course will discuss in a practice-oriented manner how to make technically sound and predictable clinical pictures in a predictable way and which materials are needed.
In small groups at the dental chair, practical exercises will enhance the theoretical part of the training. Furthermore, on the basis of clinical examples, the course will discuss how photography improves aesthetic results of treatments. You will be able to apply knowledge and tools acquired during the course immediately in your daily practice.
After the course you are cordially invited at a reception for the opening of the Icarus Academy.

Ron Gilman
Ron Paolo Gilman is gespecialiseerd in audiovisuele producties aangaande patiënten-voorlichting en digitale media voor de medische industrie. Als video-en fotografie journalist heeft hij zich toegespitst op de dentale wereld. In 2013 heeft hij zijn opleiding in mond-en gelaatsfotografie genoten bij Daan Van Oort, Nederland.
Ron Paolo Gilman specializes in audiovisual products for patient-information and digital media for the medical industry. As a video and photography journalist, he focuses on the dental world. In 2013 he completed his training in oral and facial photography with Daan Van Oort, Netherlands.
Walter Van Breda
Walter Van Breda specialiseerde zich na zijn tandartsstudie aan de K.U.Leuven verder in prothetische tandheelkunde. Van 1990 tot 1995 was hij verbonden aan de Afdeling Prothetische Tandheelkunde van de K.U. Leuven. Vandaag is hij docent aan het Instituut voor Osseointegratie van dezelfde universiteit.
After his dental studies, Walter Van Breda specialized further in prosthetic dentistry at the Catholic University of Leuven. From 1990 till 1995, he was associated with the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry Catholic University of Leuven. Currently, he teaches at the Institute for Osseointegration at the same university.
